Created for London Design Festival 2012
Traditional barnlights look like a light bulb stuck to a dish and there is something unpretentious and almost naive about it – which we liked a lot. We rethink the barnlight for contemporary contexts and ecological ligthing.
Our lamp consists of a hand turned solid wood reflector, fitted onto a standard Bakelite lamp holder with an energy saving light bulb.
By assembling standard components and a handmade reflector, we created an interesting contrast of materials, and a sustainable design for mass production.
